Regional Surfers Arriving For 2008 Makka Pro

Trinidad’s National Champion Jason Apparicio and runner up Chris Dennis who nabbed the top two spots at Makka last year will not be on hand to defend their titles. Jamaican, Luke Williams who stands in fifth place overall in the series will be looking to capitalize on that fact and make a run for the series title.

3rd CSN Contest Goes Down in Jamaica

The 2008 Makka Pro will be held at one of Jamaica's most consistent reef breaks -- Makka Surf Beach, Yallahs.  Competitors will be traveling from Barbados, Trinidad, and USA to compete against the top Jamaican surfers in the Open Men, Open Women, and Junior Divisions to carry home the title, over $12,000.00

Jr. Championships Open In Jamaica

11-year-old Ivah Wilmot of Bull Bay in Saint Andrew and Shane Simmonds, 17, of Boston Bay in Portland were respective winners in the under-16 and under-18 divisions at the first event of the of the Jamaica Surfing Association’s 2008 National Junior Surfing Championship Series.

JSA To Teach Swimming This Summer

State of the art training boards will be used by JSA’s International Surfing Association (ISA) certified coaches to conduct the summer camp. The camp which will have a limit of ten participants per week will run from July through August.
